July 6, 1968
Marine Observation Squadron 2 (VMO-2) stationed at Da Nang, South Vietnam, received the first OV-1OA, Broncos, to arrive in South Vietnam. The aircraft, specifically developed for counterinsurgency warfare, was immediately employed for forward aircontrol, visual reconnaissance and helicopter escort.
